Modern society often emphasizes "Creativity" as an innate talent. Artists and professionals in this field are particularly valued. creative<\/strong> They are often praised for their talent \u2013 but in fact, many studies have shown that creativity can be learned, practiced, and developed just like any other skill.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

You can learn to be more creative just like you learn to program, drive, or swim. Try these eight ways, and the great thing is you can start them right now.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

1. Doodling<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Teachers have always set rules like "no doodling in books" and "focus on the blackboard." But in reality, drawing whatever comes to mind doesn't distract you as many people mistakenly believe. In fact, it keeps you engaged while your mind wanders.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Suni Brown, author of *The Doodle Revolution*, points out that the world's greatest minds, from Henry Ford to Steve Jobs, used this method to initiate a creative process. Contrary to popular belief about brainstorming, some recent studies have shown that collective thinking doesn't actually promote creativity as much as people think.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, try newer ways to be creative. Go for a walk. Move your body physically and think about your problem from a literally different perspective. Physical activity has been shown to have a positive impact on creative thinking, so don't sit still when you're stuck for ideas. Get outside.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Buy a small notebook that you can always carry in your bag or purse. Sketch anything you can find in your free time: a coffee cup on your desk, a stack of newspapers on the bus\u2026 Your sketches might not be perfect, but don't worry too much about it. Spending a few minutes sketching things will help improve your observation skills and stimulate creativity.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This is an interesting and creative exercise from researcher Bob McKim.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take a piece of paper and draw 30 random circles on it. Now, within 1 minute, transform those circles into as many meaningful things as possible. For example, one circle could be the sun, another a bowl, and so on. See how many objects you can create in 1 minute!<\/span><\/p>\n

This exercise was previously presented in an experiment with groups of children and adults, and interestingly, most adults were unable to achieve the same number as the children.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
