Choosing a career that suits your personality – Do you know how?

“Unemployment – a term that has undoubtedly haunted many students in recent years. According to statistics from the Institute of Labor and Social Sciences, as of the second quarter of 2017, Vietnam had 575,100 unemployed young people, including 183,100 university graduates and 82,600 college graduates. Most of these young people are in a state of proactive unemployment, meaning their lack of work is simply due to their desire to find a job that better suits their passions and interests or meets their salary expectations. But the question here is: how can we choose a career that matches our abilities and interests while also meeting the needs of society?

Therefore, when choosing a career, you need a long process of exploring your interests and personality to find a suitable profession, and from there, an ideal job where every day at work is a joy instead of stress and fatigue.

What kind of job suits your personality?

Are you an extrovert?

As an extrovert, you're well-suited to working in team environments or large groups with many members. You don't feel insecure or awkward; on the contrary, you're confident and comfortable speaking in front of crowds and leading group activities. Extroverts are also versatile, working best when handling a variety of different jobs. Ideal careers for this type of person include: Hotel and Restaurant Management, Public Relations, Sales, Public Relations, etc.

Or are you an introvert?

In stark contrast to extroverts, introverts tend to work best in small groups or alone. Most are highly focused on their work and pay attention to detail; they are diligent and meticulous. Therefore, ideal careers for this personality type include: Information Technology, Bartender, Copywriter, Lawyer, Financial Officer, Accountant…

You are an organized person.

This personality type is characterized by practicality and meticulousness. They prefer to organize things in a specific order and structure, applying rules to their lives and work, and striving to eliminate clutter in order to organize their work efficiently and accurately according to their goals. If you are an organized person, the following professions are suggested for you: Restaurant and Hotel Management, Head Chef, Accountant…

You have an artistic and creative personality.

For individuals with an artistic personality, they generally dislike working according to patterns or following any rules. It can be said that they are always eager to explore, discover, and be creative in their work. People with this personality type often prefer working on their own schedule, a dynamic and flexible timetable that allows them to generate unique ideas and perform their work to the best of their ability. They are also very good at remaining calm and quickly finding solutions to difficult situations. Currently, many job positions and employers require candidates with this creative trait. Suitable professions for this type include: Design, Writing, Cooking, PR, Acting.,

Is career guidance based solely on personality sufficient?

Choosing a career is a long process, and of course, it doesn't just depend on your personality. You also need to consider career opportunities and the societal demand for your chosen field.
