Distinguished by its core training programs in Business Administration and Hotel and Restaurant Management, APC/BTEC focuses on developing practical skills with a state-of-the-art, internationally standardized practice area right on campus, fully equipped with professional equipment and teaching aids suitable for the training program.
On April 15-16, 2015, students from APC/BTEC and Broward College Vietnam had the opportunity to tour the entire practice area, which is meticulously modeled after each department of the Hospitality Management industry, such as Housekeeping, Reception, Bar, and Restaurant. In particular, they also participated in a very interesting bartending class and enjoyed delicious mocktails right at the bar in the practice area.
The check-in/front desk department is responsible for receiving and processing booking requests, room changes, and cancellations for guests, as well as welcoming, receiving, and checking guests in. All activities include receiving and processing guest services and requests during their stay at the hotel: confirming airline tickets, making reservations at restaurants (hotel or outside), handling valuables, processing guest complaints (equipment, noise, late wake-up calls), booking and organizing tours, arranging taxis and transportation services from the hotel to the airport or vice versa…
Front desk staff at the check-in/lobby area are the face of a hotel. The high volume of interactions and the need to handle constantly arising situations demand strong communication and problem-solving skills from these staff members.

The restaurant department is where all guests have their meals. Depending on the restaurant's style and the specific requirements of each meal, there are many etiquette points to consider at the table. From the arrangement of cutlery and napkins to table decorations, this is not just a job but also contributes to the style and culture of the hotel and the region it represents.

Bedrooms meet international standards, with a minimum area of 22m2. Beyond providing comfortable living spaces, 5-star hotels also prioritize the well-being of their guests. Room service staff will handle romantic gestures such as offering chocolates, roses, or cards before bedtime. All of this aims to provide the most convenient and pleasant experience possible for guests using the hotel's services.
The aspiration of a high-quality hotel is to provide dedicated and attentive service so that guests feel like they are in their own home.
In the bar area, students will learn how to prepare mocktails (non-alcoholic) and cocktails (alcoholic) according to proper procedures. They will learn about the origins of wines, winemaking methods, and the brands of some typical wines from around the world; distinguish between different types of spirits, the production processes of major spirits, and the brands of some typical spirits; learn about liqueurs, how to choose suppliers, and how to store them…
