“"Graduation" or "Unemployment"? That's the question many recent graduates ask themselves when they leave university without equipping themselves with enough knowledge and skills to find work. And did you know there are five types of students who are at a very high risk of unemployment when trying to find their first job? This article will help you identify those five types of students!
1/ Fragile and easily broken
To be honest, fragile college students are at extremely high risk of unemployment. In reality, every job has its own pressures, and when we enter the workplace, we inevitably encounter various problems. These could be customer complaints, criticism from other departments, or the anger of a boss or colleague. If you're not prepared to cope with these things, unfortunately, few jobs will suit a fragile soul. You may not need to be exceptionally resilient to face adversity, but you must have a strong spirit and the ability to recover from setbacks!
2/ Laziness
These types of students are characterized by their young age, lack of experience, and a constant desire for easy, stable jobs. They become irritable and feel exploited if they have to work overtime or on weekends. They also constantly need to be guided, even on the tiniest tasks, and require constant urging after assignments, otherwise, they won't see any results by the deadline. With such inertia, unfortunately, no employer wants to hire such a candidate.
3. Delusions of grandeur
You know, many graduates can easily fall prey to the "illusion of superiority" of their degree. Despite lacking experience, many still strongly believe their value deserves a high salary. In reality, whether you graduated from a university or college, public or private, domestic or international, if you lack the experience and skills to meet recruitment needs, unfortunately, you won't have a chance to get the job you want.
4. An overly large ego.
Perhaps this is one of the characteristics that causes many recruiters headaches when faced with cases of recent graduates who are too conservative in their views and ideas. With limited experience, recent graduates need time to observe and learn to accumulate more expertise. While expressing opinions and defending one's arguments is necessary, the line between being conservative and maintaining one's stance is very thin.
5/ Always looking at the grass on the other side of the fence.
This is the type of candidate that confuses recruiters the most. Even with limited life experience and an unclear career path, if they switch to a new company or field every few months, it's clear they're someone who's always looking for greener pastures. If you're the type who likes many different fields and wants to experience a little bit of everything, it will be very difficult to convince recruiters to choose you!
