Overview of the Business English Translation Industry<\/h2>\n<p>Business English interpreting is a specialized field of study that applies language skills to professional careers. The program equips students with knowledge and skills in interpreting and translating (English-Vietnamese and Vietnamese-English), business knowledge, and workplace culture. Upon graduation, students can work in multicultural environments in roles such as: interpreter, translator, senior secretary, English teacher for children, hotel or company receptionist, tour guide, or in service and trade companies.<\/p>\n<h2>II. Professional knowledge and skills<\/h3>\n<p>- Knowledge:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acquiring general social and humanities knowledge serves as a foundation for learning the English language and professional skills in commercial English translation.;<\/li>\n<li>Understand the basic knowledge about the nature and characteristics of language;<\/li>\n<li>Acquire advanced knowledge of various linguistic aspects (phonetics, vocabulary, grammar) in both English and Vietnamese, especially knowledge of business English;<\/li>\n<li>Mastering the fundamental knowledge of translation theory, translation techniques, the purpose, nature, scope, and principles of translation and interpretation work;<\/li>\n<li>Possessing a general understanding of Vietnamese culture and the cultures of several English-speaking countries, as well as knowledge of cultural exchange in international communication and business environments;<\/li>\n<li>Possess the necessary general knowledge of commerce and office administration;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>- Skill:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Achieve advanced English language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) equivalent to TOEIC 500 for professional purposes;<\/li>\n<li>Using Vietnamese effectively in business communication;<\/li>\n<li>Applying knowledge of translation theory and techniques to perform translation and interpretation tasks, primarily including:<\/li>\n<li>Translating various types of documents and texts related to commerce and administration: business correspondence, commercial contracts, legal documents, commercial law texts, advertising materials, and commercial press releases.;<\/li>\n<li>Interpretation in business and social communication contexts: office meetings, conferences, negotiations, speeches, press conferences, business training courses, technology and equipment transfer;<\/li>\n<li>There are several skills needed to support administrative and external relations work: drafting documents in English, guiding foreign visitors on company tours, taking minutes, and conducting some meetings;<\/li>\n<li>Proficiently using modern technical tools, technologies, and media to support professional work and studies;<\/li>\n<li>There are several essential soft skills such as communication skills in a multicultural work environment, presentation and persuasion skills, information selection and processing skills, time management skills, problem-solving skills in translation and communication, and the ability to adapt to the demands of the job and the labor market;<\/li>\n<li>Possessing learning skills and scientific thinking abilities to continuously improve oneself, enhance knowledge and professional competence, and pursue higher levels of education;<\/li>\n<li>Capable of working independently and organizing teamwork; creative ability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2. Politics, ethics; physical fitness, and national defense<\/h3>\n<p>\u2013 Politics and ethics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess a level of political theory knowledge in accordance with the general curriculum;<\/li>\n<li>Having a correct understanding of the path to national construction and development;<\/li>\n<li>Understanding the law and fulfilling all the responsibilities and obligations of a citizen;<\/li>\n<li>Possessing ethics, professional conscience, a sense of discipline, community knowledge, and a professional work style;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a healthy lifestyle that is in line with national customs and cultural traditions;<\/li>\n<li>Having a self-respecting attitude towards one&#039;s own culture and language, while also respecting the cultures and languages of other nations around the world, contributes to the country&#039;s development and integration through translation work.;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning, developing professional skills, and cultivating the necessary personal qualities to meet the requirements of the job and the employer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2013 Physical fitness and national defense:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess the necessary knowledge and skills in physical education and sports;<\/li>\n<li>Understanding physical training methods to protect and improve health, enhance physical fitness to meet job requirements;<\/li>\n<li>Possessing basic knowledge and skills in national defense and security, and being ready to perform the task of protecting the homeland.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>IV.
