This was also the message emphasized by Mr. Vo Thanh An – Front Office Supervisor of InterContinental Saigon Hotel – to the Management students present at the TALKSHOW: Career guidance in the Hotel industry – Front Desk specialization.

The seminar, organized by the Faculty of Management on the morning of August 4th, aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of reception work and diverse job opportunities within the hotel management industry.

As one of the two speakers at the talk show, Mr. Vo Thanh An shared his heartfelt insights with the students. He affirmed that "appearance" is only one factor in the job; more importantly, a hotel receptionist must have a "neat" demeanor, good moral character, and "honesty" regarding the financial matters and assets of customers.

Sharing Mr. An's viewpoint, Ms. Trinh Phuong Dung, a lecturer at Viet My College, also emphasized and expanded on the point: Regardless of your position or department, you need to have good qualities and a serious work attitude.

Ms. Dung also outlined specific departments and positions that graduates of the Hotel Management program can work in, such as: administrative and office areas, supplementary service areas, food and beverage areas, accommodation areas, etc. At the same time, she specifically guided students on how to identify their potential through a series of psychological questions, thereby helping them determine a suitable job position.

Throughout the seminar, young people were given the opportunity to openly and amicably exchange their knowledge. They were also free to ask questions, participate in mini-games, and receive lovely gifts or small snacks from the speakers to help them stay alert and focused.

Concluding the talk show, you have seen the enormous potential of the tourism and hospitality industry in the future. More importantly, you have been equipped with the knowledge to become excellent, high-standard employees serving in 5-star hotels. This is an important stepping stone to getting closer to your dreams.
