Practical skills are a top priority for employers.

Current recruitment trends

During the college application adjustment period, many Gen Z students are re-evaluating their previous choices with their families. Besides criteria like interests and grades, they should also research the requirements that employers look for in graduates. "This is also an important criterion for students to consider when choosing a major and a school," shared a representative from Viet My College.

Professional skills

Professional skills and practical abilities are top priorities for recruiters, especially multinational corporations, when selecting employees. Therefore, Gen Z should focus on hands-on lab sessions, company visits, internships, and practical training to enhance their skills and impress potential employers in the future.

Soft skills

Soft skills will help you quickly integrate into the work environment, collaborate with other departments, and solve problems you encounter. Some of the most important soft skills include: communication, presentation, teamwork, emotional balance, time management, etc. And all of these skills need to be honed from your time in school.

Work experience

A common paradox is that employers often prioritize candidates with experience, while recent graduates often have "blank resumes." To address this, schools often provide students with opportunities for practical work experience and help them build their "personal profiles" through final projects and participation in prestigious competitions.

Attitude and character

Whether you're an extrovert or an introvert, you need to cultivate qualities such as sociability, friendliness, a willingness to learn, a thirst for knowledge, independent thinking, and the ability to control your emotions. These will be major advantages with employers.

Foreign Languages

Foreign languages are a crucial factor that helps you gain more competitive opportunities and expand your job market. Therefore, choose to enroll in schools that offer specialized English courses or other foreign languages.
