Students from BTEC International College "conquer" a chain of 4- and 5-star resorts during their field trip to Phan Thiet.

From May 20th to 22nd, students from BTEC International College had a field trip to a chain of famous 4- and 5-star resorts in Phan Thiet. Learn how to become a manager in the future.

During the 3-day internship, BTEC students learned from and listened to the sharing of managers from famous 4- and 5-star resort chains in Phan Thiet City such as Blue Bay Resort & Spa, Malibu Resort, and Blue Shell Resort. The managers shared knowledge ranging from basic to advanced levels of management skills. Students were able to compare their learning with what they had already learned at school, covering topics such as check-in and check-out procedures, housekeeping, breakfast preparation and serving processes, as well as how to become a resort manager, manage staff, handle situations, and recruit, train, and develop employees.

‘"The students at Viet My College are very active and enthusiastic in seeking information." They also proactively ask situational questions to discuss with the resort management. Many students have the qualities to become managers and have even greater career development potential after graduation.’ Mr. Huynh Tan Loi – Housekeeping Manager Representatives from Blue Bay Resort shared their feelings after the career sharing session with BTEC students.

For students at Viet My College (APC), exposure to professional work processes in a hotel or resort is nothing new, as they have already completed internships and practical training at 4- and 5-star hotels in Ho Chi Minh City since their first year. However, this internship trip has helped many students realize many seemingly simple skills such as: problem-solving skills, communication skills, and applying the golden key to the profession – a smile – while working… All of these were seriously listened to, learned, and considered important lessons for their careers.

Nguyen Thi Hop, a student in the BTEC International College program, shared further:‘Although I had the opportunity to work at several wedding reception centers and participate in practical training sessions at other hotels in Ho Chi Minh City organized by the department, this trip truly helped me understand the profession and the path I have chosen better. I began to have a clearer direction for my future career and identified my strengths and weaknesses to make the most informed decisions..'’

After two years of university studies, feeling that it wasn't the right fit for her, Nguyen Thi Hop decided to switch to Hotel and Restaurant Management at APC. To this day, Hop feels happy with her decision.

A poignant moment at the Gala Dinner.

After two days of grappling with midterm exams, applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations, and proactively gathering information for upcoming assignments, the students enjoyed a truly relaxing Gala Dinner. There, it wasn't just music and fun, but also heartfelt sharing and touching moments of love.

‘'Mom' Nga and 'Dad' Phu – Affectionate nicknames given by students to their supervising professors.

Ms. Nguyen Anh Phu and Ms. Nguyen Thanh Nga are affectionately called "Dad" and "Mom" by the BTEC students. They have been with the students from their first year until today, guiding them on their career paths. Therefore, during this 3-day, 2-night internship, Ms. Thanh Nga and Mr. Anh Phu dedicated considerable time to guiding, preparing, and sharing their study and training secrets with their students. The teachers wholeheartedly shared their experiences about the profession and the next steps in the students' lives.

The program was quickly "heated up" with vibrant musical performances showcasing the personalities of BTEC students, making the party lively and energetic, yet still friendly.Real, intimate.

The Gala Dinner concluded with many touching moments and beautiful memories shared between APC students and faculty.

These are all beautiful moments from the time you've spent studying and sharing together on the APC campus. APC wishes all of you a successful internship and the opportunity to find your dream job in your chosen field.
