According to information from the General Department of Vocational Education (Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs), this agency has just sent a document to 45 universities nationwide requesting them to stop enrolling students in college and intermediate-level training programs from July 1, 2019.
For courses that enrolled students before July 1, 2019, universities will continue training until the end of the course and award diplomas in accordance with the Law on Vocational Education and the guidelines of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Meanwhile, for certain specialized training programs, universities are requested to report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for consideration, and then report to the Prime Minister on the continuation of college-level and intermediate-level training in culture and arts.
According to the General Department of Vocational Education, the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education, which came into effect on July 1, 2019, stipulates that universities perform the function of training at the following levels of higher education: undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees.
