Concluding days of challenging yet exciting competition, the participating teams shared their experiences and unforgettable memories from their first ventures in the 50$ Challenge 2016. Sweat, smiles, and even tears were invaluable lessons they will never forget. Even better, the profits earned will be donated to a meaningful charity program.
The 50$ Challenge program is a great opportunity for students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. Not only does it generate profits to contribute to the Warmth of Hau Giang program, but it also provides students with practical experience and valuable lessons about friendship, teamwork, and effective group work skills.
With stable profits, an impressive presentation of their business idea, and an excellent and very "up-to-date" fast-food business strategy, the NTV team brilliantly won first place in the program and took home a prize of 2,000,000 VND. Second place went to Drink World, who offered delicious refreshing drinks perfect for hot summer afternoons. Third place went to Hand To Heart for their unique approach of selling handmade goods; despite the difficulties, their relentless efforts earned them a prize. Notably, the Hand To Heart team also decided to donate 100% of their profits to charity.
In a joyful and meaningful atmosphere, the participating teams shared their fond memories from the program. A representative from the Hand To Heart team shared: “The process of making handmade items is very difficult; our team had to turn down many orders because we lacked sufficient manpower and time. The lesson we learned is that theory and practice are always worlds apart.”.
Representatives from the group It's the Bomb, a prominent fast-food business, shared the difficulties they faced when trying their hand at business for the first time: “In the beginning, when business was tough, a lot of the food we prepared spoiled, and we suffered serious losses. But a few days later, we decided to change our strategy and relocate our stall to the Notre Dame Cathedral area. Within a few days, we successfully recovered our initial investment.” Similarly, the group Hand To Heart frowned as they recounted the moments when the four girls had to shoulder the heavy workload of their business: “I realized that the more you challenge yourself, the more conflicts arise.”.
The teachers attending the awards gala also sent their congratulations to the teams for the meaningful journey they had just completed. Dr. Mike Turner emphasized: "With the experiences you have gained, you will easily achieve even greater success in next year's competition.".
