A spectacular comeback to pursue passion.

Graduated from Viet My College with a major in... Business English interpreting With exceptionally high scores, Nhung Ngo quickly landed a dream job after graduation, one that matched her strengths and passions. However, this mature, confident, and capable assistant director also experienced a period of uncertainty and confusion about her future career path during her nearly three years in university.

Three years ago, while a student at a major university in Ho Chi Minh City, majoring in International Business Administration, Nhung felt unhappy and unsure about her decision. Quietly reflecting on herself, Nhung continued to search for her own path, with English translation always on her mind. Then, one day in 2014, she mustered the courage to make a change, officially shifting her focus to this field. Business English interpreting At Viet My College, the girl decided to pursue her passion, knowing she had made the right move against the grain.
Back then, on this new journey, Nhung's only baggage was her passion for the English language and her belief that a new school would help her develop and hone her abilities.
Nhung accepted starting from scratch, with everything new: a new field of study, a new environment, new friends. Even with her 'unusual' career shift—leaving a university for a college—she received much advice, mixed with surprise and reproach, from friends and family who believed she was going down the wrong path. Four years later, she proved to everyone that this unusual decision was what shaped her into the mature assistant manager she is today.

From someone who was 'shy to speak English' to a translator in 3 years.

It wouldn't be accurate to say that three years at Viet My College transformed Nhung from a girl who was shy about pronunciation and communication into a fluent and confident interpreter. However, it was a period that provided Nhung with a learning environment, motivation, and opportunities to practice, helping her foreign language skills develop daily. Her perseverance in pursuing her passion and achieving her dream of "speaking and practicing" a foreign language every day has yielded its first fruits. From her first year, Nhung secured part-time work related to interpreting. Initially, she worked as a receptionist at hotels and foreign businesses, then part-time as an interpreter for a company director in her second year. On graduation day, Nhung officially became the valedictorian of her school and subsequently landed a job that matched her skills and passion, much to the pride of her family and friends.

‘If it weren't for the practical sessions where the teachers "forced" us to go out into the streets to conduct interviews and talk to people, or the subjects where students who didn't speak would "fail" the course outright, I wouldn't have succeeded. Especially the internships and practical training at businesses, and the presentations in English, which were specific to the subjects, helped Nhung practice a lot for her future career. Besides that, the teachers also instilled in us the importance of punctuality, completing assignments on time, and proactively researching topics and lessons before class. After graduation, Nhung applied these habits flexibly and smoothly, as if they had been formed long ago.

Sharing with younger students who are pursuing or intend to study this major. Business English interpreting, Nhung shared: Studying this field is one thing, but persevering until you achieve even a little success is another story. Therefore, don't miss a single class at school; the lectures and heartfelt advice from your teachers will be effectively applied after you start working. Be confident and courageous in believing in the "differences" you are pursuing, don't follow any pre-existing formulas or stereotypical prejudices, and success and joy will naturally come to you one day.

PV APC: Thank you, Nhung, for your sincere sharing. Once again, APC wishes you to continue maintaining your positive spirit and energy. We wish you even more success on your chosen career path.
