“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. A great company always starts from the ground up. Do well what you have learned, and you will naturally create your own place in society.” Mr. Nguyen Ba Ngoc shared these heartfelt words at the “Café with Experts” event last Sunday morning (April 3, 2016), as this was the first time first-year Public Relations students at Viet My College had independently organized a series of talk shows with their own unique style.

This time, our guest is Ms. Truong Ngoc Minh Dang, the Vietnamese Queen of Wisdom and also the Director of NEWS Communications, a nationally renowned media company known for its "Around The World - Traveling the World with Your Child" project. From the perspective of a media expert, she enthusiastically shared with the students of Viet My College about her personal journey into this profession. Her rich and personal stories, along with the professional guidance of the two VPR class MCs, helped the students better understand the importance of building a personal image and brand, as well as how to apply social knowledge to the fields of media and business.

According to Ms. Minh Dang, to do good communication, you must have a solid understanding of sociology because communication serves the public, and the public is the factor that makes up a society. “You must walk in other people’s shoes to understand them. You must understand social behavior and psychology because what happens in society is the material for communication work.” Because she understands the trends in social and cultural development and grasps the core humanistic values, the communication message from her “Traveling the World with Your Child” project has maximized its impact and received much affection and support from the community. Besides understanding the target audience, Ms. Minh Dang also emphasizes analyzing and posing a series of questions to help young people have the right direction in building their personal image. “Who are you? What are your strengths? What style are you trying to build for yourself? How do you achieve it?” But most importantly, "No matter what your purpose is in building your personal image and brand, you must always be yourself," Minh Dang affirmed.

Sympathizing with Ms. Minh Dang's sharing, the students of Viet My College enthusiastically asked many questions to listen to her very real and "down-to-earth" experiences and thoughts. The conversation ended with many lingering emotions, and the young people were once again motivated to rekindle their dreams and faith in the path they had chosen.

American Polytechnic College, using a "worked-based learning" approach, provides students with opportunities to practice and gain practical experience through extracurricular activities. The "Café with Experts" program helps Public Relations students become familiar with communication and event organization in a systematic and professional manner while still in school.
