This March, the Vietnam-America College Football Club launched a special internal tournament. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to raise funds for homeless people.
This is not only considered a sports activity to improve health, but also an opportunity to promote human values and the spirit of mutual support and compassion among students of Viet My College. This year's tournament brings together 3 teams representing nearly 20 students and 10 staff members of the school, competing in a round-robin format.
Accordingly, the opening match, which took place on March 13th between Football 1 and Football 2 – two student teams belonging to the school's Football Club – kicked off a series of five consecutive matches in the coming period.
“With financial support from the school and the Youth Union of Pham Ngu Lao Ward, this tournament provided students of Viet My College in particular, and the school's staff in general, with a meaningful and healthy playground after a long battle with the Covid-19 pandemic.”"—Nguyen Giang Anh Tai, head of the Football Club, happily shared.
Throughout the match, the players from both teams continuously exchanged spectacular tackles and interceptions. Although considered somewhat weaker than Team Football 1, Team Football 2 managed to draw 1-1 after the first half thanks to a goal from Anh Viet. After some exchanges and tactical changes during the halftime break, the "warriors" of Football 1 brilliantly defeated Team Football 2 with a final score of 5-1.
In a surprising result after a tense battle, Football 1 emerged victorious. The cheers and applause from the fans energized the players on the field. Three spectacular goals were scored by players from both teams:
- Thanh Nhàn (FB1):
- Thai Binh (FB1):
- Anh Viet (FB2):
This is a positive sign and will also serve as motivation for other clubs in the school to continue "fighting" strongly after a period of suspension of outdoor activities due to the pandemic. Following the opening match, the next match between Football 1 and the Staff team will take place at 9:00 AM on March 19th. Don't miss this amazing match everyone!
