On July 23, 2015 – immediately after receiving their high school graduation exam results, 12th-grade students in Ho Chi Minh City kicked off their exciting summer by participating in a series of career guidance activities called "Open Day: Future Career Orientation" organized by Broward College Vietnam and Viet My College | BTEC.
In this session, students had the opportunity to learn about Business Administration – a field that plays a core role in and determines the profitability of businesses. Beyond theoretical knowledge, the Open Day also provided valuable practical experiences at one of the first international corporations in Vietnam, representing high-end fashion brands through its distribution, retail, and franchising network – GLOBAL LINK Ltd., with its chain of luxury multi-brand stores in Saigon – RRR Runway.www.runway.vn).
Ms. Trang Duong – representative of Global Link (Runway) – shared very practical and detailed information with students about the organizational structure, scale of the business, and functions of each department. She also discussed the standards for high-level sales professionals and the special skills to note when working at a luxury fashion brand (dress code, communication skills, problem-solving, demeanor, qualifications, etc.).
Ms. Trang emphasized: “"Because the supply of qualified sales professionals in Vietnam is scarce, but the demand for recruitment is high, businesses are creating opportunities and environments for employees to receive training and develop during their work.". However, the turnover rate in this profession is also very high if you don't constantly learn, explore, and improve your skills and knowledge every day.
Each job offers its own advantages; the important thing is that you are truly passionate and love your chosen profession. For sales at Runway: you get to work with high-end fashion clothing designs, fulfilling your passion for fashion; you get to work in a professional environment and receive training from basic to advanced levels.”

After the Runway experience, participants returned to Broward College Vietnam to discuss what they had learned from the event and enjoy unique and delicious drinks at the bar in the college's state-of-the-art Practice Area.
By writing and attaching their personal reflections before and after the trip, the students were able to better remember the knowledge they had learned.
