What did the hotel management students learn from their luxurious tour of the 5-star Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport?

Field trips and hands-on experience in the workplace are essential activities for Hotel Management students at Viet My College.

Last week, under the guidance of Ms. Trinh Phuong Dung, M.Sc. – lecturer in Hotel Management, 53 students from the Faculty had an extremely luxurious Hotel Tour at Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport – a 5-star hotel managed by IHG – one of the world's leading hotel groups, owning famous brands such as Six Senses; InterContinental Hotels & Resorts; KIMPTON;…

Here, students were given an overview of the history and corporate culture of Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport by Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Bich (Director of Human Resources). In addition, they had the opportunity to tour and observe various areas of the hotel; learn how to handle situations – a crucial skill for students in service-related fields; and receive valuable professional advice and soft skills from Ms. Ngoc Bich and other managers in the tourism and hospitality industry.

With two days participating in the Hotel Tour, the students learned many extremely valuable lessons. More importantly, through this event, Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport in particular and IHG Group in general were able to assess the practical work skills, enthusiasm, and modern, internationally-standard management thinking of the Hotel Management students from Viet My College. This forms the foundation for signing a cooperation agreement to train and supply high-quality human resources for the company in the near future, given the strong recovery of the tourism industry.

Thanks to these collaborative efforts, in the near future, students of Viet My College will have a fantastic opportunity to intern, undertake internships, or secure employment at Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport; thereby gaining experience and enhancing their work capabilities to a 5-star standard.
