Public relations (PR) has never gone out of style.‘

Public relations is known as an attractive and promising field for dynamic young people who love the media industry. But is PR a path paved with roses?

To become a professional communications officer, passion is necessary but not sufficient if one does not truly possess the ability to be a "bridge operator.".

There are many signs that indicate you are a good fit for this field. Below are 5 factors that can help you easily assess your PR qualities.

  • Curious, observant, and inquisitive.
  • I appreciate innovation, creativity, and unique thinking.
  • I enjoy interacting and talking with people.
  • Learn to befriend stress.
  • Quick to grasp the news and handle situations well.

The role of PR in business

As a component of the Marketing-Advertising-Communications triangle, PR plays a crucial role in the development of a business.

Public relations (PR) is a communication tool that helps businesses build successful brands and fosters positive public sentiment towards the company. This allows businesses to reach potential customers. Internally, PR acts as a bridge to strengthen relationships between departments and build organizational culture.

Thus, in the competitive market, businesses cannot deny the role of the PR department in each organization. Whether long-established or newly developed, they do not hesitate to invest in building a professional PR department.

Public relations awakens passion and fosters creativity.

Three years ago, while a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Phương Anh decided to change course when she was close to receiving her bachelor's degree. Born in 1994, she decided to drop out and switch to the Public Relations program at Viet My College. She accepted the challenge of starting over and ignored all obstacles and opinions from those around her.

When asked about her decision from years ago, Phuong Anh shared, "... Driven by my passion for PR, even though I started a little late, I at least had the courage to pursue it. Today, as a third-year university student preparing for my PR internship at a reputable agency, I am convinced that my decision was absolutely the right one.’

Unlike Phuong Anh, Thuy Tien – a second-year PR student – revealed that: ‘"Even when I was a student, I was already researching the PR field and found it quite appealing. The more I studied, practiced, and gained real-world experience through internships at large companies, the more passionate I became about the profession, and the more motivated I was to pursue it more easily and successfully."’

Public relations is a profession with great potential and opportunities for young people to not only develop their passions and aspirations but also hone and perfect their social skills.

This is for you – those who are still hesitant and uncertain about choosing a career and a future path.
