With a focus on practical training and strong connections with businesses in each major, Viet My College students are always given opportunities to intern, learn, and gain experience with businesses. This serves as a bridge to reduce the gap between school and business, and also provides students with a chance to make a positive impression on employers.
Adhering to that training philosophy, students majoring in Japanese for business and commerce (class of 2017) recently completed a practical internship at the Izumi Japanese Education Center. On December 4th and 18th, 2019, the students of the 2017 class were personally welcomed, guided, and interviewed by Mr. Sekito Noriyuki – Director of the Center.

IZUMI is a member of the I-Cube Education Group from Japan, with 40 years of experience and training over 5000 students annually. IZUMI centers not only provide knowledge but also equip and hone practical skills for children before they apply them to real life. IZUMI's mission is: "Through effort and insight, we constantly challenge and improve ourselves to develop individuals and contribute to society.".

The internship on December 4th, 2019, served as a prelude to the crucial mock interview, conducted entirely in Japanese, between the 2017 Japanese language class students and Professor Sekito Noriyuki at the IZUMI Japanese Language Center.
During this internship, Professor Sekito Noriyuki directly conversed with and guided the students, helping them gain a better understanding of Japanese interview requirements and methods, as well as how to make a good impression on interviewers. Even better, the students also received dedicated guidance from their professors on Japanese work culture, interior design, and color schemes in the Japanese style.
Let's see how the Vietnamese-American reporter describes the very Japanese atmosphere at Izumi:
- Shoes will be neatly placed outside, giving you the feeling of being in your own home.
- The floors were always sparkling clean.
- All teachers wear vests when they come to class to teach.
- The Japanese are very hospitable.
- There is no distinction between managers and employees.,

There are many more surprises about the internship and in-person interview between Viet My College students and Professor Sekito Noriyuki, so stay tuned for part 2!.
