Management students and their memorable internship in Da Lat City.

On December 16th, students from the Management Faculty of Viet My College had a surprisingly successful internship, gaining many valuable experiences. These experiences will provide first-year students with practical exposure to the business environment, helping them determine a suitable career path for their future.

Accordingly, from December 13-16, 2018, more than 120 students from the Faculty of Management, including majors in Business Administration, Hotel Management, and Public Relations, from the Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho campuses, along with their faculty members, successfully organized a field trip to Da Lat City. The students had many memorable activities while experiencing practical learning at international 4-5 star hotels such as Terracotta Da Lat., Swiss Belresort Da Lat, Dalat Palace, Sammy, and Muong Thanh Dalat participated in a 3-day internship.

At each hotel, students receive practical insights from managers in various departments such as human resources, housekeeping, F&B, front desk, sales, and accommodation, who share insights into career paths, opportunities, and challenges in Hotel Management.

For Business Administration students, besides learning and listening to how directors and managers reveal their business models, how to operate an organization, or how to manage a team, they also get to learn from hotel operations such as Housekeeping, Front Desk, F&B, etc. Public Relations students expand their specialized knowledge from the sharing of HR and marketing directors, etc., to better understand the role and responsibilities of a public relations employee in a hotel environment. Even more, there are real-life stories with diverse circumstances and experiences to inspire and motivate the students. From there, along with continuing to hone their knowledge at school, students gain more practical experience, and continue to strive for goals and aspirations for their future careers.

Hotel HR representatives shared a lot of meaningful and useful knowledge with the students.

Master Nguyen Van Khanh – Head of the Management Department, accompanied the students on this internship trip.

Besides academic activities and experiences at large businesses in Da Lat, students also visited famous local landmarks such as Tam Chau Co., Ltd., Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Me Linh Coffee, the Vegetable and Flower Farm Tourist Area, Da Lat Square, etc. These "adorable" moments were captured by the students and also provided an opportunity for teachers and students to share more about their experiences in learning and life.

Ms. Doan Nguyen Hong Trang (Small and Medium Enterprise Management major) shared more about the trip: “The trip was very meaningful; it will be a beautiful part of my student life. Not only that, I also got to listen to the seniors and professors share interesting and useful information related to my major. That will be invaluable preparation for my future.”

As a first-year student from the Can Tho Campus, Le Tan Phong (Hotel Management major) couldn't hide his excitement and joy as he shared: “This was a real opportunity for us students to bond, socialize, and expand our circle of friends. Through this trip, I made many friends from the other two campuses. Not only that, for a first-year student like Phong, this practical experience trip provided me with a lot of useful and valuable information in the field of Hotel Management that I am studying. I hope to have the opportunity to participate in more activities like this in the future.”

Nguyen Thi Tram Anh (Public Relations major) shared: “Although this was a field trip focused on the hospitality industry, as a Public Relations student, I learned a great deal related to my major. My knowledge became more diverse. For example, I learned about the process of organizing a press conference or other showbiz and media-related events that are often held in restaurants and hotels like this. I really enjoyed this trip.”
