Students burst into tears after the 10th grade entrance exam in Mathematics in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the exam center at Trung Vuong High School, a student burst into tears after finishing the Math exam.

After 120 minutes of testing, many candidates left the exam room in a cheerful mood. They commented that the questions were basic and manageable, with only the geometry question being difficult.

Leaving the exam center at Tran Van On Junior High School, a student from Vo Truong Toan Junior High School burst into tears because she hadn't done well on the exam. "My family hoped I would get into Trung Vuong High School, but now I couldn't do it, I'll probably fail to get in there," the student said.

Candidate Phuc Bao, from Tran Van On Secondary School, said: “This year's math exam was easier than last year's. However, if you don't concentrate, you can easily make mistakes on the trick questions. I think this exam has the ability to differentiate students, and I scored over 801 TP3T.”.

Nguyen Tien Huu Kha, from Tran Van On Secondary School, said the geometry question was unusual and difficult, while the other questions were easy and familiar. Sharing the same opinion that the geometry question was difficult, Quoc Bao, from Vo Truong Toan Secondary School, said he did not have enough time to complete the exam.

Mr. Tran Nam Dung, Vice Principal of the High School for the Gifted (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), assessed that this year's math exam continued to follow an innovative approach with a very basic question format, similar to last year's exam.

“"In terms of arithmetic and algebra, the focus is mainly on topics related to linear and quadratic functions and Vieta's theorem. Modeling problems make up the majority of practical problems: equations, systems of equations, functions, and rules. The geometry section is lightened and supplemented with measurement content," Mr. Dung commented.

Mr. Vo Quoc Ba Can, a math teacher at Archimedes High School in Hanoi, believes that the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City has many good, practical problems that are not tricky.

“"Candidates' test scores will improve significantly compared to last year," Mr. Can predicted.
