Visual Principles is an important, almost indispensable subject in any curriculum for Fine Arts and Graphic Design (and other design fields), and at Viet My College, it's no exception; Visual Principles is one of the first subjects that students are introduced to.
As the name "Principles of Visual Perception" suggests, principles are fundamental, belonging to the foundational knowledge. nail This subject is essential for the initial stages of familiarizing oneself with the field. While in other fields, Principles might consist of laws and rules that students are largely obligated to follow, for artistic disciplines like Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Interior Design, Principles serve as foundational knowledge, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of "how to create a beautiful work," through insights into art and research from those who came before in the field. Because art is vast and free in its creative expression, this subject doesn't force students to strictly adhere to any rules, but rather highly values their creative spirit.
Visual perception refers to what the eyes see, the shapes and images that humans perceive through their primary organ, the eyes. The terms "Principles of Visual Perception" or "Visual Art" are used to distinguish between art forms that primarily utilize the eyes as a means of contact and those that utilize other body parts, such as hearing (ears) or touch (hands).

At Viet My College, the Visual Principles course only has 20% (201 hours of theory), while the remaining 80% (801 hours of practice) will allow students to continuously practice, familiarize themselves with different art tools, and learn various methods to create visual artwork.
Nowadays, with the art form undergoing many transformations, the methods of creating artwork are no longer limited to pencils, watercolors, and oil paints. The materials available to students are incredibly diverse. Besides these basic materials, students can use other materials such as cut-and-paste colored paper, charcoal, colored pencils, markers, acrylics, powder paints, brushes, etc., to create their artwork, but always maintaining original creativity and avoiding plagiarism.

The subject of Visual Principles will help students recognize that in a work of visual art, there exist values such as contrast, synchronicity, rhythm, symmetrical composition, concentric composition, etc. This will be extremely useful for students to use as a resource for creating their own works later on, as well as a resource to serve their personal work in the future.
Furthermore, at Viet My College, there will be classes where students will have the opportunity to experience completely different methods of creating artwork compared to regular classes. For example, they can create their artwork by cutting and pasting paper onto a surface, using patterned tape to create a piece, or using only their hands and paint without pens. Moreover, students will have the chance to participate in workshops during extracurricular classes. In these workshops, they can experience painting with oil paints on a large canvas for the first time, or try wood carving, fabric dyeing, pottery making, and more.

The Graphic Design program at Viet My College will always create a civilized learning environment, continuously updating the curriculum so that students can experience endless creative stimulation, realizing that nothing is impossible.
