Being proactive in PR is commonplace among students, but for a freshman, secretly organizing an event to support their studies was a truly unprecedented and surprising event. Let's join our reporter as we "sneak into" this first but equally fascinating event.
What is your color – A debut talk show full of “secrets”
For the first module of the "Introduction to Public Relations" course, the 2020 cohort of students independently created the script, assigned tasks, organized logistics, and executed their first event. Unlike other events, this time the head of the Public Relations department, Ms. Huynh Cam Thuy, received the final notification about the program and became the "speaker" in her lecture.

Even more interesting is that the 2020 Public Relations class has over 40% members who are transfer students from other universities and colleges. Read to the end to see what they think about the learning environment at Viet My College.
Actively acquire knowledge by participating in minigames.
Unlike conventional teaching methods, at this event, students actively acquire knowledge by creating a series of minigames where participants must overcome obstacles. Each challenge station is related to the Public Relations major, namely:
- Media specialist
- Personal media
- Content creator
- Event management

At each station, players will be given a pass to move through the stations. The player's task is to read the concepts printed on paper hung on the wall or pasted on the table. Regarding the four topics mentioned above, after reading, participants will answer questions from the station leader related to issues surrounding the Public Relations industry. These topics include: what are the necessary qualifications of a communications professional? how to communicate effectively through personal communication? what qualities are needed to become an event organizer? how to become a content creator and write effective content?

In response to the challenges posed by the event organizers, the theories, messages, and concepts of the subject have become much more accessible, understandable, and easier to absorb.

These words of encouragement come from homeroom teacher Huynh Cam Thuy.
Besides sharing insights into the job market demand for Public Relations professionals, Ms. Huynh Cam Thuy provided students with the knowledge and skills they need to acquire in a rapidly changing market driven by technology. These include: foreign language skills, creative skills during the learning process, concise and impactful content writing skills, and how to build relationships with the media. A particularly important point for students is that to succeed in the PR field, they need to participate in real-world work and gain practical experience to equip themselves with practical knowledge. More importantly, students need to have their own goals and career path.

In addition, Ms. Thuy also shared that career opportunities in the Public Relations field are very diverse. Students can work in areas such as internal and external communications, building PR for businesses and individuals, event management, or if they have writing skills, they can choose Content and Media.
Hopefully, through this talk show, the students have learned a lot of useful knowledge and become more confident on the path they have chosen.
