On the evening of December 27th, lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages had the honor of participating in a Vietnam-Korea cultural exchange program themed "Deepening the Friendship between Vietnam and Korea," organized by the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association at the City Theater.

On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea (December 22, 1992 – December 22, 2023), the first anniversary of the upgrading of the two countries to a comprehensive strategic partnership (December 22, 2022 – December 22, 2023), and especially to celebrate the successful conclusion of the 3rd Congress of the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2023-2024, representatives from both sides expressed their desire for a stronger bond and enhanced spirit of mutual development between the two nations. In particular, the delegates emphasized that 2024 will be a year of explosive student activities and events.
Attending the program were Mr. Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue – Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, President of the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Lee Hye Kyung – First Vice President of the Advisory Committee on Democracy, Peace and Unification of the Office of the President in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Shon In Son, President of the Vietnamese Korean Overseas Association… along with representatives from colleges and universities that offer Korean language training in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City was established in 1995 to organize exchange and cooperation programs in various fields such as culture, education, tourism, and economic investment between Vietnam and Korea. In particular, during the 2023-2028 term, the Association will continue to promote exchange and cooperation programs with Korean schools and educational organizations, establish joint undergraduate and postgraduate training programs, and organize seminars and competitions in Vietnamese and Korean languages to provide opportunities for students from both countries to interact, exchange, and learn from each other.
Upon receiving the invitation and participating in the program, the Faculty of Foreign Languages in particular and Viet My College in general are extremely pleased with the increasingly close cooperation between the two countries. We hope this will be a positive sign, expanding more exchange activities not only for lecturers but also for students majoring in Korean language.

At the anniversary celebration, to foster future activities, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Korean Association donated 100 million VND to the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association. With its cultural exchange focus, the program presented audiences with spectacular performances showcasing the intermingling of Vietnamese and Korean cultures, from traditional to modern.

The event is not only a cultural exchange program showcasing the close ties between the two countries, but it also affirms the concerted effort for strong future development, especially in the field of the Korean language.
Let's take a look back at some of the moments that Viet My College captured at the Vietnam-Korea cultural exchange night.
