Which IT-related fields offer the best job prospects?

With technology and artificial intelligence (AI) making rapid strides, many experts predict significant changes in the labor market. Given this reality, choosing fields related to information technology will be the best guarantee of future income for students.

Top emerging fields related to information technology.

Previously, many people perceived information technology (IT) as simply writing code, web programming, and repairing computers/phones. However, IT has now permeated every aspect of social life, giving rise to new professions and jobs with attractive benefits.

• Software applications

The fields related to software applications are diverse and extensive: mobile apps, games, APIs (embedded code), open source... to custom-built applications tailored to the specific needs of businesses. It can be affirmed that the software sector remains one of the hottest fields in information technology, attracting a large workforce each year.

• Website administration/design

Previously, creating a website required 2-3 people in positions such as graphic design, coding, and data administration. However, the emergence of website design as a field of study has created multi-tasking professionals, allowing just one person to effectively handle the work of 2-3 such roles.

This field is made up of many elements: graphic design, network engineering, data algorithms, etc. By studying this field, you will quickly catch the "multitasking" wave in the job market.

• AI – Artificial Intelligence

Among all technology-related fields, AI is expected to be the biggest "piece of the pie," creating a huge volume of jobs. Contrary to the belief that AI will replace humans, many experts in the field of education see this as a great opportunity because, ultimately, to create and operate AI, we still need a high-quality workforce.

• Big Data – Machine Learning

Big Data and Machine Learning are two of the newest and most promising fields related to information technology in Vietnam. Big Data is directly related to data management and information optimization, benefiting individuals, organizations, and especially businesses. Alongside Big Data is Machine Learning – or simply put, "machine learning." Data extracted from Big Data helps artificial intelligence-powered machine systems operate better, more efficiently, and improve both productivity and performance.

Although computer science is considered a must-study for Gen Z and Gen Alpha, the reality is that AI, Big Data, and Machine Learning in Vietnam almost lack specialized training institutions. Therefore, students often equip themselves with a foundation of knowledge from software application or website management/design fields to further their education.

Viet My College – a great support system for those passionate about technology.

For nearly two decades, Viet My College has remained a trusted choice for parents and students wishing to pursue careers in technology.

What has helped Viet My maintain this trust? It's due to the following four unique factors:

EQuest is the largest education group in Vietnam, with over 362,000 students enrolled annually. Since June 2022, members of EQuest's education technology division have been accredited and certified by the US-based Cognia Accreditation Organization for comprehensive quality assurance.

EQuest benefits from the dedication of many educators who are former international students from the UK, USA, Germany, Australia, and other leading countries in information technology. Therefore, the information technology programs at Viet My College – a member of EQuest – utilize a modern curriculum that is continuously updated with the latest global knowledge, helping to enhance students' skills and knowledge.

Support from the training partner network

Viet My University students receive "VIP treatment" with continuous opportunities for internships, practical training, visits, or hands-on learning directly at businesses. This strength stems from two advantages of the university: practical training accounts for up to 70% (100% of total course time) and a wide network of training partners across many fields. In the field of technology, new knowledge and advancements emerge every day, every hour. Therefore, younger teachers will be more responsive to new knowledge, and thus continuously update it for students. This support helps students shorten their self-study time and provides them with a richer source of knowledge compared to rigid textbook learning.

Support from modern equipment

Students studying information technology-related fields at Viet My University have free access to the modern lab facilities. High-configuration computers, equipped with advanced software and AI, are excellent tools for learning, acquiring knowledge, and improving skills.

Currently, Viet My College continues to enroll students in Information Technology-related programs, offering full-time college degrees. Specifically, there are two majors: Information Technology – Software Applications and Information Technology – Web Design. Students who register early have the opportunity to receive a refund of up to 100% in tuition fees.
