As society develops, the demand for healthcare increases. Currently, in Vietnam, the need for pharmacists, nurses, technicians, etc., is very high. Therefore, the pharmaceutical industry is considered an attractive field offering many job opportunities.
According to statistics from the Drug Administration, the ratio of pharmacists to the population in Vietnam in 2017 was only 2.2 per 10,000 people. The majority of these pharmacists are working in state management agencies, hospitals, and pharmaceutical businesses. There is still a significant shortage of human resources in the pharmaceutical industry.
At the same time, according to expert forecasts, the demand for human resources in the fields of Pharmacy and Nursing will increase in the coming years due to the growing need for healthcare. These two fields also hold extremely important positions in the healthcare industry and have the highest employment rate for graduates immediately after graduation. Therefore, many young people, right after graduating from high school, choose these fields as their career path for the future.

Is studying Pharmacy difficult?
Studying Pharmacy isn't difficult, but it requires perseverance and patience because it's a profession that demands high accuracy to minimize errors. Mistakes are unacceptable in the pharmaceutical profession, as they not only affect the pharmacist themselves but also endanger patients, leading to unpredictable consequences when medications are sold to consumers.
What kind of jobs can you get after graduating with a degree in Pharmacy?
Many people mistakenly believe that studying Pharmacy only leads to working in private pharmacies – advising the community on medication use and health. In reality, after graduating as a pharmacist, you have many career options:
You can work as a pharmaceutical sales representative at healthcare facilities such as hospitals and medical centers, or for pharmaceutical manufacturing or importing companies. Additionally, you can work as a marketing representative introducing new drugs, or in pharmaceutical management, quality control (drug testing), or research on new drugs…
Pharmacists are not only experts in medications, but also specialists in clinical biochemical testing, also known as clinical pharmacists, participating in medication decisions in special cases when invited to participate in drug and treatment advisory boards. Therefore, pharmacist training must be linked to the hospital system to standardize the output of pharmacists.
Is the pharmaceutical industry a hot field?
