A chat with the charismatic leader of the VME Club.

The name VME is probably already very familiar to VietMyers through the exciting and spectacular events held recently, right? So this time, let's chat with the head of the VME club, Tran Le Phuong Thao, to find out who she is!

APC: Hello, could you please introduce yourself?

Thao: Hi, my name is Tran Le Phuong Thao, but people usually call me "Tho" (Rabbit). I'm in class 5173VMS02 – majoring in Business Administration. I'm currently the head of the VME club, and I also participate in supporting many other activities and events at the school. Recently, I also participated in the Leadership Bootcamp 2018.

I'm a fairly easygoing, approachable, and affectionate person. People say I'm quite witty (haha). However, I'm also quite hot-tempered and extremely stubborn, so conflicts easily arise when working with others.

APC: What brought the Rabbit to Viet My College?

Rabbit: Initially, I planned to study psychology at Hutech University, but it was too far away, so my family didn't approve. Then I considered this school because it's closer to home. Also, a friend of mine from high school, POY, recommended and guided me. After researching, I decided to study here. I'm quite lucky that my family also supported my college education, allowing me to gain more experience and study for a shorter period, rather than forcing me to go to university.

APC: Why did Thỏ decide to study business administration instead of psychology as originally planned?

Rabbit: Partly because I later found out that studying psychology makes it harder to find a job later on. Also, I really enjoy studying business, so business administration is a field I'm very interested in.

APC: How do you feel after a year of studying?

Rabbit: First of all, I feel happy. I feel like I made the right decision choosing Viet My because here I can be myself. I get to experience more than just learn, especially in the Talk Shows. If I really listen and understand, I learn a lot from them.

As a member of the VME club, Thỏ is a familiar voice at school events.

APC: When did Thỏ join VME and what memories does he have with the club?

Thỏ: I joined VME in October 2017, which was when I had just started university. I took a chance and auditioned for the Sing Club and was lucky enough to be accepted. Then I started organizing my first event with the Sing Club, "A Time Long Gone." At that time, I really enjoyed working; I would arrive early and leave late to prepare for events, so I received praise and high ratings from the seniors. Around after Tet (Lunar New Year), VME was established, and Phương Anh nominated me to be the club leader, and everyone trusted and agreed. At that time, many second and third-year students guided and trained me a lot. The event I organized as the VME leader was "The Glorious Years." While running the event, I even wondered if I had chosen the wrong major because I absolutely loved this work. I didn't feel tired at all; I just wanted to keep doing it forever.

APC: Did the rabbit encounter any difficulties in organizing the event?

Rabbit: For the first event, "A Time Long Gone," I was just a member, so I didn't encounter any difficulties. But for "The Glorious Years," it was my first time being a leader organizing an event, and since I have a quick temper, there were many conflicts and arguments with other participants. However, thanks to the help from senior members, the program was ultimately a great success.

APC: So far, what has Thỏ learned from school and from participating in school activities?

Rabbit: For me, the biggest thing I learned was teamwork. For someone as hot-tempered and stubborn as me, teamwork is very difficult. But here, the teachers always create opportunities for teamwork in each subject, and when we do events together, everyone has to work together, so I've learned a lot about teamwork. Besides that, I've also learned time management, how to persuade people, and especially the necessary knowledge to organize an event. Honestly, I've become addicted to event organizing (haha), now I feel so bored if I don't do it!

APC: How did you feel about participating in the Leadership Bootcamp 2018?

Rabbit: To be honest, I was initially forced to join because I was the club leader, so I felt a little "scared," but after three weeks, I found the program to be very informative. I learned and did many things I had never known before. Gradually, I felt drawn to it and motivated to experience more, to step out of my comfort zone.

APC: What activities is Thỏ (Rabbit) currently undertaking, and what are its future plans?

Rabbit: Currently, LB2018 is divided into two groups so we can run two events simultaneously, and there are many more events coming up afterward.

As for the future, I don't have any specific plans yet. Maybe I'll continue studying another major like PR at the school, or I might even apply for a position at the school as a POY. Anyway, right now I'm really enjoying my life at APC.

APC: Thank you so much for sharing your interesting experiences, Thỏ! We wish you many wonderful times at school and continued success in future events!
