The practical environment at a company/business will be very different from when you sit in a classroom and absorb knowledge, but in an internship position, this is when we have the right to ask questions and are allowed to make mistakes.

Nguyen Tuyet Hang, a former student of the Business Administration (BTEC) program, class of 2015, shared:“Learning from books and practical experience are very different, which requires adaptability and a lot of learning from everyone in the company. For example, during my studies, I simply imagined that if I was interning in a particular department, I would focus solely on that department; if it was a sales internship, I would only do sales. However, when I joined the company, the actual work required me to support other departments such as marketing, event management, and human resources, rather than just staying in one position. While the nature of each company may differ, proactively seizing opportunities and working wholeheartedly helped me develop significantly during my internship..”

If used correctly, internships allow students to understand what kind of work they will do after graduation and make timely adjustments. This will be the foundation for outlining future career paths, making more appropriate training decisions, and maximizing soft skills to enhance capabilities. Clearly, internship time will be invaluable preparation for entering a truly competitive work environment.
